Tonight's installment of the Brooklyn Independent Cinema Series features great short films of the past and present. John C. Reilly and Miranda July star in a quirky piece about a man who stops people on the street to ask, "Are you the favorite person of anybody?" A Coalition bombing raid interrupts an Iraqi family dinner in Chase Palmer's Shock and Awe (2004), and Michael Cera plays his usual awkward teen in Matthew Lessner's Darling Darling (2005). Hugues Dalton and Jeff Garton's Lift (2004), meanwhile, features City of Lost Children star Dominique Pinon as an elevator operator who has never set foot outside his lift. Seize this chance to catch up on some of the quirkiest and most entertaining shorts of recent years.
