Ad Hoc Art says…

This expertly curated exhibition showcases the work of six female pop surrealists from around the world. Lisa Alisa (Russia) juxtaposes elegantly minimal prepubescent nudes with neon tattoo motifs that recall Klimt's opulence. Camilla d'Errico's (Canada) big-eyed, doll-like figures seem to have jumped off warped storybook pages with their saturated hues and disjunctive living accessories, while Sarah Joncas' (Canada), subjects' pouting lips, pregnant bellies, and sultry gazes exude eroticism. Mia's (US) canvasses explode with narrative possibilities and Mijn Schatje's (France) eerie baby/jellyfish hybrids and tattooed water nymphs are rendered in fine detail. Don't miss LogikOne's mesmerizing violent fantasy images in the Project Room.
