As a member of Mr. Bungle, bassist Trevor Dunn explored the outer edges of seedy cartoon jazz, avant-funk, and demon-rolling heavy metal. While his band's music was often rambling, abrasive, and intentionally incoherent, it still sat atop an deep understanding of musical composition. Tonight, Dunn taps this knowledge base with an expedition into the similarly head-scratching innovations of free-jazz pioneer Ornette Coleman.
