Photography has always been both celebrated and suspect for its popularity with so-called amateurs. The rise of do-it-yourself shutterbugs has given us vital, world-changing information from previously unknown sources, but it has also unleashed a deluge of self-regard and obsessive documentation. Of course, the same can be said of the Internet. The intrepid curators at the Brooklyn Museum combine these unruly technologies in Click!, a photography survey in which responses to an open call for images portraying "the changing face of Brooklyn" were evaluated online by thousands of people. Final selections won't be unveiled until the show opens, but the entire process is chronicled on the show's blog; it's a fascinating look at modern-day curating.
