Linked by Spike Lee movie soundtracks (Crooklyn and Clockers), conscious hip-hop, and Brooklyn loyalty, the Crooklyn Dodgers reunite for today's parkside performance, inspiring a serious case of '90s East Coast "rapstalgia." EMC head-honcho Masta Ace brings along Ali Shaheed Muhammad (A Tribe Called Quest) and the legendary DJ Premier, while O.C. reps his Diggin' in the Crates crew. Jeru the Damaja drops early Gang Starr cuts, and Chubb Rock gets on the mic like a hip-hop Barry White. Hosted by Boot Camp Clik's Buckshot (in case you missed him at OSB last night) and old-school storyteller MC Special Ed, the lower borough love-in should have Manhattanites racing across the bridge for a seat.
