In the post-Caribbean era, eccentric pirates are more ubiquitous than starch-pressed pantaloons. But it's important to remember that the ocean bows to more than one type of marauder. Honoring all stewards of the sea equally, tonight's Melville-Era Sea Chantey Sing-a-long celebrates the tunes of both dainty and dastardly sea dogs alike (a full list will be available on the Brooklyn Lyceum's website a week before the event). For a mere five bones (off a dead man's chest?), salty codswallops trade these tales of frosty ale, lagoons, endless rowing, and portside stopovers, all while inviting the landlocked to sing along.
