Union Hall says…

Abstracted from centuries of formal discourse, modern philosophy now seems like a self-contained vessel, a detached amalgam of heady precepts that boggle us all. In the past few years, however, certain thinkers have responded to this esotericism with a so-called experimental approach. Their surveys on happiness, morality, and free will have yielded compelling and practical perspectives on how people make sense of their worlds. Tonight's book-release party celebrates a new collection of these studies, featuring presentations ("experimental" ones, we hope) by its co-editors, professors Joshua Knobe and Shaun Nichols. If it all seems a touch dry, host and local funnyman Eugene Mirman is good for a chuckle.
