Most professors drop knowledge, but Professor Murder drop beats – the NYC-based dance-punk quartet mashes funk grooves, Jamaican dancehall, and '80s new-wave, resulting in loud, loose pop music sure to get you sweat-soaked and shaking it. Free Blood, the project of former !!! percussionist John Pugh and fashion designer Madeline Davy, bring unpretentious, frenzied electronica imbued with a noise-rock sensibility, often leaving the stage to perform from the audience. DJ Kingdom spins booty-twitching mashups between sets, reminding you that there's still time to get down, even as summer vacation comes to a close. And in the spirit of public education, tonight's show is free for all ages.
