Search & Restore returns to the Knitting Factory for its new fall series. Since the program's creation in 2007, it has stayed true to its mantra of making jazz more affordable and accessible while keeping to a freewheeling philosophy that promises "no rules, except your standard laws." This week's premiere features Blast Off!! + Wayne Krantz, whose frontman, well known for working with Steely Dan and other luminaries, remains one of the most dedicated craftsmen in the New York jazz scene. Accompanying Krantz's group is Paloma Recio, headed by Tony Malaby and his tenor-sax flourishes. To make the grooves go down even smoother, Goose Island 312, an unfiltered wheat beer from Chicago, is available at a discount.
