Any record hound worth his earplugs knows about Optimo Espacio. That's the Glasgow club night where hundreds of crazed Scots cram into Sub Club every Sunday to get their brains blown out by JD Twitch and JG Wilkes. New and old electro, left-field acid house, classic funk and hip-hop, post-punk, indie rock: all get fed into the duo's Roland samplers and emerge ready to rumble. Flights to Scotland are pretty cheap these days, but the truly broke among us are thrilled that JG Wilkes has arrived Stateside to play for free. Ol' Jonnie releases techno under the name Naum Gabo (check out his stomping Franz Ferdinand remix), though his tastes run far beyond — the grab bag he tosses out should be impressive tonight.
