Red Hook Ball Fields says…

If you stuck Jesus and Moses behind a pair of turntables, the result would resemble this event. As far as hip-hop producers go, Premier and Pete Rock are as important as they come. Premier's production credits read like a who's who of top singles: aside from working the ones and twos for the definitive Gang Starr in the '90s, Premier also did Nas' "NY State of Mind," Jay-Z's "D'Evils," and songs for everyone from KRS-One to Christina Aguilera. Pete Rock, meanwhile, pioneered the filtering technique (now widely used by producers to isolate certain sounds from original samples) on his way to producing hits like Biggy's "Juicy," and singles for Public Enemy, Nas, and others. Tonight, Rock faces off against Premier for a free show courtesy of the CityParks Foundation.
