Maurice Fulton is one of dance music's most creative, enigmatic producers. Last year, his 12-inch release under his Syclops moniker hearkened back to the early days of 4/4-oriented Warp Records, while earlier outings punctuated a jazzy swing feel with filthy synth stabs. Elsewhere, Fulton's work with partner Matsumi Kanamori, as Mu, injects house music with a warped, molten pop-punk sensibility. As a DJ, he's known for being both discerning and unpredictable — today at Sunday Best!, expect a smattering of chopped-up disco, house, and left-of-center cuts that mirror his own unique production aesthetic.
