Between Fall 2007-Summer 2008 King Expressers was invented in a living room in East Legon, Accra, Ghana. The product of long practice sessions of Highlife and Soukouss, second-hand motorcycles, stacks of cassette tapes from the market, Wonderful Jesus Beauty Saloon and Drinking Spot, hot hot sun, doing the booty-do, and playing music at dances, clubs, and on the streets of New York, New Orleans, and Accra, King Expressers are now bringing their brand of rocking, speedy soukouss to the fine people of Brooklyn.
