“Mark Morris is known as one of the most musical choreographers working today, making an effort to use live musicians when most companies rely on recordings. This week's show is no exception with two world premieres: "Looky" features an idiosyncratic score by Kyle Gann performed on a Disklavier (a digitally driven player piano) while "Socrates" is a three-part drama set to music by Erik Satie and performed by pianist/tenor duo Colin Fowler and Jean-Paul Fouchecourt respectively. A silent, solo piece from the repertory, "Behemoth," is thrown into the mix for counterpoint.”
