Everything old is new again. Or so it seems with Cinema 16's recent revival of the silent-film-era tradition that pairs live music with great soundless film. Cinema 16 adds a twist by choosing hard-to-find shorts, commissioning original contemporary scores by experimental musicians, and moving its monthly curated program to a new locale for each screening. Improvisational trio Lemonade provides the live score tonight. And if Lemonade and vintage shorts alone are not enough, the beer tasting should satisfy connoisseurs of another ilk.

Smack Mellon says…

Cinema 16 says:

For this incarnation of Cinema 16, Lemonade will score four short films including Shirley Clarke's Bridges Go Round, Ezra Johnson's W.V.B., PSA Coney Island from the 1940s, and Peter Tscherkassky's Outer Space. Everyone's favorite local brewery, Kelso of Brooklyn will be providing a beer tasting. La Tia Faby will also be on site selling delicious empanadas.
