In celebration of Oktoberfest's 200th year, Radegast Hall & Biergarten has what we're told is the exclusive honor of pouring Paulaner Oktoberfest Weisn for the first time in the US, along with Weihenstephaner FestBier and Hofbrau Oktoberfest. Of course this means something to you. It either brings you back to your days in Munich, or it means "I don't speak German, but that sounds like good beer and I like good beer." So start your own local tradition at a local New York biergarten. Who needs all the tents and hoopla anyway? You can have cheap, good beer, free bratwurst, and bar-side brawls to satisfy all of your Oktoberfest cravings. And don't miss out on the special menus for Oktoberfest, which include a variation on a Radegast favorite, the Munich Oktoberfest 9oz pretzel with spicy mustard and cornishons. But bring a friend, this hors d'oeuvres feeds two. By evening's end, you may need someone to help you off the floor, too.
