“If you missed Soul Summit in Fort Greene this summer, you can catch them for two more summer dance parties at Move About Myrtle, which kicks off on Sept 5 for a day filled with free activities, music and merchant specials. Veggiecation provides food preparation and tastings, Ellie Balk weaves an "innovative mural" into the fence of a nearby vacant lot and Move with Grace features free yoga, dance and dance parties. You'll also get a chance to win $100 in Myrtle gift certificates. And if free yoga isn't your thing there are plenty of cafés along Myrtle to lounge at and enjoy the events with a cool drink (or babaganouj at Zaytoons) from the sidelines. ”
Part of BAM About Brooklyn, on all four Sundays this September, Myrtle Avenue between Hall and Clermont will transform into an active, pedestrian-friendly public space perfect for dancing, cycling, strolling, and people-watching! From noon to 6pm each Sunday, the commercial corridor will become a temporary neighborhood plaza complete with free music, workshops, performance, games, arts and much more—all organized with the help of local community groups and Myrtle Avenue merchants.
