“Last year, Canteen Magazine hosted a unique soirée at the art-filled home of Arnold Lehman, the Director of the Brooklyn Museum of Art. There were hot young writers reading literary fortunes, mixological creations, and an unexpected appearance by Björk and Matthew Barney. Back by popular demand, the NYC Gala this year honors the artist Kehinde Wiley, and presents a silent auction, free portraits by Soosan Silanee, literary fortunes read by New Yorker's Ben Greenman and Lauren Mechling, hors d'oeuvres by Crave, a mixologist serving up tasty cocktails, and more. Through its Harlem tutoring program, Canteen helps young people master the literary arts showing that its heart is in the right place. So we're always down to support the magazine and their endeavors. Come out for a good cause, pick up a copy of their latest "Hot Authors" issue, and hob nob with the bright, young things of art and literature.”
