“Before the Chanukah candle ceremonies commence, expert party-planners Great Performances and homegrown-heralders Edible publications are holding their annual festival that glorifies the potato pancake and thanks it for its savory contributions to the holiday season. An all-the-latkes-you-can-eat-a-thon, tonight's event features 15 celebrity chefs, including Saul Bolton (The Vanderbilt), Noah Bernamoff (Mile End), and Bill Telepan (Telepan) competing for the title of Latke Master. Attendees help select the people's choice, while judges like Marty Markowitz and Mimi Sheraton mill about and pick their evening's favorite. And despite the latke's strong association with the festival of lights, this potato pancake feast is a non-denominational affair.”
