“One of our favorite festivals of the year, Animation Block Party is like Saturday morning cartoons for adults, but so much better. The largest fete of its kind on the East Coast, the eighth edition features an international selection of over 100 short animation films by professionals, students, and independents. Night one is in the capable projectors of Rooftop Films and follows their regular format with a performance by LIPS and an afterparty at Bar Matchless with free beer. Days two and three are kicked over to BAM where we get a program for kids in addition to bills showcasing New York premieres, award winners, subversive design works, and music videos for acts like Das Racist and the Propellerheads. Saturday is also worth checking for ABP's first free trade show and gallery exhibition.”
