“Gemini & Scorpio celebrates the fourth birthday of Coilhouse magazine, which both in print and online serves as a "love letter to alternative culture." An opulent secret cabaret room hosts awesome musicians including Franz Nicolay (the Hold Steady) and Brian Viglione (Dresden Dolls, World Inferno), amazing performers — from gender-bending burlesque to belly dancing and aerial acts — and the Purevile Girls, described as "exquisite living dolls, unearthed from some great-great-auntie's steamer trunk." VIP status is granted to any donation of 30 bucks or more, and gets you in early (5pm) for an elaborate tea service, first-dibs on the silent auction, and (depending on your level of donation) a pretty sweet gift bag. Costumes are strongly encouraged; play on themes of the Weimar Republic, 1920s Soviet Russia, the Bauhaus/Constructivist movements, Metropolis, and anything in red, white, and black.”
