“Each of the artists in this exhibition IN-HABITAT interprets the concept of habitat, and the meaning of inhabiting this world in his or her own way. Gregory Curry's paintings refer to a post-human world (as if he's channeling Jeffrey Deitch ca. 1992), while Lisa DiLillo's images are evocative of the transformative nature of the nocturnal forest. Julia Whitney Barnes explores the power struggles between humans and the natural world and Kim Hollerman considers radioactive fallout, chemical seepage into groundwater, oil spills and suchlike events of toxic contamination. What does inhabiting the world mean to you?”
