During a recent stand-up bit at UCB, Daniel Kitson slipped in that he'd never received a bad review. He was making a joke, but in all seriousness, he has few critics. The British storyteller/comedian is a nimble narrator and an incredibly astute fabricator of fiction. He may stutter on occasion or break storytelling character due to a distraction, but otherwise his non-stand-up sets are brilliant flowing bundles of joy. His latest show, It's Always Right Now, Until It's Later is a meditation on life and its constitution — a stream of seemingly unimportant moments that begin with your first breath and end with your last. For 90 minutes, Kitson bounces between the worlds of two, more or less, unconnected characters, William Rivington and Caroline Carpenter, illuminating their lives through frozen moments. Completely transfixing, the loquacious production jerks giggles as well as a surprising number of sniffles. Fine Kitson fare.
