“For Early Plays, a unique collaboration between the Wooster Group and the New York City Players, Richard Maxwell directs Eugene O’Neill’s early “Glencairn” plays: Bound East for Cardiff (1914), The Long Voyage Home (1917), and The Moon of the Caribbees (1918). The stories of sailors are the medium through which larger themes of yearning and eternity are explored. As the Wooster Group has long been known for its avant-garde presentations, seeing this world premiere gets you in on the action early, for a theatrical event that is sure to be talked about, before the production heads to Paris, LA, and San Francisco.”
