3rd Ward says…

This four day intensive will give you an overview of foundational hand cut joinery and a chance to practice it on a project.  Layout and execution will be done with tools that have been in existence for centuries. We will start with the mortise and tenon joint, and follow it up with a few iteration of dovetails.  While laying out and conceptualizing these joints we will also go over consistent and accurate layout techniques.  Utilizing these joints you will create a small tool box (a safe home for your sharp chisels and accurate layout tools).  Class time will be divided between demos, practice joints, and the tool box project. Even if you don't cut another mortise, tenon, or dovetail by hand after this class; the skills and techniques covered, are applicable in most future woodworking endeavors.
