“Sigur Ros is back. Well, sort of. Considered by some to be the messiah of music, the band immortalized their last tour from 2008 in a live concert film and released the joyous footage this past year. Inni, filmed at Alexandra Place over two nights by Arcade Fire's Miroir Noir director Vincent Moirsset, strips away the context and presents the raw performance of the four Icelanders — a notable departure from Sigur Ros' other live film, Heima. Captured in gorgeous grainy black and white, the film is an absolute must-view for fans and an excellent musical gateway for those less familiar with their post-rock sensibility and made up lyrical language of hopelandic. In theaters on a rare occasion, Inni is also available for home consumption as a double live album and DVD package. To commemorate the Spectacle run, the theater is giving away a signed poster.
