In his first Chicago solo show, Jordan Wolfson projects Perfect Lover, a 3-D animation transferred onto 16mm film. Hosting the screening, Rowley Kennerk's petite gallery space proves an exceptional spot for this three-minute gem. The calming effect of rushing streams and picturesque foliage is offset by an occasional cough from the narrator or an unfocused and slightly foreboding frame. Wolfson's work conveys an almost ostentatious quality, heavily conceptual but also playful. The artist lives and works in Berlin and New York City, and his work was shown in the 2006 Whitney Biennial and at London's Tate Modern.
