The Art Institute of Chicago says…

Curators James Rondeau and Douglas Druick convene to speak about their curatorial vision for an exhibition focusing on Jasper Johns' use of melancholy gray as a theme. Gray, which will travel to NYC's Metropolitan Museum of Art in February, culls 141 of the artist's works from over five decades, and includes sculpture, painting, and printed pieces. Polished strokes, luscious texture, and patriotic symbols are hallmarks of Johns' — one of the most famous (and scrutinized) American artists of our time.
