With over 7,000 duplicate and discarded volumes of obscure scholarly hardcovers, contemporary paperbacks, ten-pound academic tomes, and vintage textbooks, the semi-annual University of Chicago Library Book Sale is a bibliophile's wet dream. The public book bazaar is a fabulous opportunity to amp up your personal library or score some one-of-a-kind gifts — like an exquisitely illustrated biology reference book or an old copy of The Communist Manifesto. At today's event, all remaining items, including old music scores, vintage maps, LPs, and cassettes, are completely free. Arrive early for the best selection and bring a cloth sack or small box to carry away your loot.
