Art John Parot: Biological Exuberance

Jack Daniel's bottles, pink rope, dripping caves, and mesmerizing tendrils are just a few things you will encounter at Biological Exuberance, John Parot's new show. Winding through all three galleries at Western Exhibitions, Parot's gouache collages and installations find a relationship between gay nocturnal discoveries and the disappointment of everyday life. His Animal Style depicts several male heads submerged in paint; they float towards the bottom, dragged by the weight of their own identity. Named after a book by Bruce Bagemihl on the homosexual behavior of animals, Parot's show engages the senses and may leave you wanting a stiff drink.
