Furiously pawing at her guitar like it's her last hope on a sinking ship, frontwoman Alex White of garage outfit Miss Alex White & the Red Orchestra is a sight to behold. With brow furrowed and veins popping, White barrels forth with husky, impassioned wails and fuzzed-out guitarwork, while her three-man crew dazzles with classic, Detroit-rock stylings and psychedelic blowouts. Tonight's massive bill celebrates the release of Miss White and Co.'s Space and Time LP, the ten-year anniversary of record store Laurie's Planet of Sound, a 7-inch release by psych masters Vee Dee, and the birthday of Chicago uber-fan Dan the Fan.
