As a self-described "academic refugee of indie pop," Chicago's Stephen Becker, PhD, (aka Le Concorde) crafts whip-smart lyrics and rousing melodies with a backdrop of complex arrangements, courtesy of LA-based producer David Gamson (who has worked with both Scritti Politti and Miles Davis). Catchy, danceable rock from the Its and uber-stylish, mod-inflected pop from the Handcuffs kick off the proceedings.
