David Lynch is one of modern cinema's true artists, if also one of its most infuriating. This new documentary — directed by a filmmaker who goes only by the name "blackANDwhite," but who is reputed to be Lynch himself — offers a striking portrait (or, perhaps, self-portrait) of the artist. In it, Lynch speaks about how his explorations into various genres interrelate, while also addressing his history with Transcendental Meditation. The Chicago premiere of the film is followed by a weeklong run. Lynch classic Eraserhead screens before and after selected showings.
