James Janega, The Pocket Idiot's Guide to Surviving Iraq, Penguin Group
Wednesday Nov 28, 2007 (6–8pm)
Hyde Park Art Center
5020 S Cornell Ave
773.324.5520
Tribune reporter James Janega discusses the thrills and dangers of reporting from a war zone. As an embedded journalist in Baghdad and the author of The Pocket Idiot's Guide to Surviving Iraq, Janega can discuss Iraqi food, weather, and traffic as well as its labyrinthine politics. This event, full of the sort of workaday details Anderson Cooper never covers, is presented in conjunction with Consuming War, the HPAC's exhibition of witty and affecting political critiques by a horde of local artists and activists.
