With pensive abstraction aplenty, Brooklyn-based artist David Coyle presents new oil paintings and video for his second solo show at 40000. Coyle's bewitching brush strokes, lustrous paint quality, and redefined subject matter make a striking impression. His Beyond Infinity creates the sensation of vertigo with tilted geometric patterns and colors, while the textual elements of Full Clout and Untitled (Why) call to mind the work of New York painter Dana Frankfort. A graceful combination of comedic and ominous elements, Coyle's pieces are phenomenally rendered and will leave you wanting more.
