After the electrifying end of Guided by Voices in 2004, critics and fans alike wondered with bated breath whether it was the end of frontman Robert Pollard's career. Not so, friends. At 50 years old, the godfather of lo-fi hasn't missed a beat in his solo career, delivering high kicks and drinking enough to require a personal onstage bar. With more than 1,000 songs to his credit, Pollard ups the ante again with the recent release of two full-length albums in the same week. See him tonight at the site of GBV's grand finale, as he plays one of two live shows in 2007.
