Tonight's double feature of documentary films explores issues of accessibility and public understanding for people with disabilities. UK director Bente Milton's 2001 film Alison's Baby is a frank portrait of artist Alison Lapper — who works by painting with a brush in her mouth — as well as her tumultuous pregnancy and the birth of her son Parys. Citizen Sam, directed by Joe Moulins, records the turbulent campaign of Vancouver's quadriplegic mayor Sam Sullivan. The post-screening panel discussion features local experts in accessibility, including representatives from the Mayor's Office on Persons with Disabilities, Access Living Chicago, and ADAPT.
