Dubbed "the most important living art critic" by NYC alt-weekly The Village Voice, New Yorker art critic Peter Schjeldahl knows modern art better than pretty much anyone. Speaking tonight as part of the Museum of Contemporary Art's People Who Shape Our World series, he offers a companion lecture to the museum's ongoing, behind-the-scenes self-retrospective, Record Times: 40 Years from the MCA Archive. Topics on hand include the importance and influence of artists like Andy Warhol, Cristo, and Jeff Koons, as well as the space's influence on artists incorporating the surrounding museum into their work.
