Olivia Newton John plays a heaven-sent, leg warmer-clad muse who encourages a frustrated artist to realize his dreams by, um, opening a roller rink. With its laughably stilted dialogue, kitschy animated sequences, tacky neon special effects and nonsensical plot, razzle-dazzle disco musical Xanadu (1980) is one of the most unintentionally hilarious films of all time. With all its over-the-top glitz and glitter would be almost too much to stomach, if not for the Razzie-winning film's grand finale. We won't give it away, but let's just say there's some elaborately choreographed roller-skating and an ELO-penned pop opus, which pushes it from unwatchably bad to an utterly sublime camp classic. Tonight's sing-along screening kicks off the new Camp Midnight series.
