Music: Rock/Pop The Lemonheads w/ Racoon and the New Rivals

Back in the early '90s, the Lemonheads' Evan Dando was one of the poster children for Generation X: a stoned, sensitive heartthrob along the lines of My So-Called Life's Jordan Catalano. Though his talents were often overshadowed by his looks, Dando was a frequently brilliant songwriter, graduating from Boston's punk scene to pen some of the loveliest melancholia this side of Gram Parsons, on albums like It's a Shame About Ray and Car Button Cloth. Drugs and fame took their toll on Dando, but after a few years of seclusion and spotty solo performances, he's recently reformed his Lemonheads for a well-received eponymous album on Vagrant.
