The Sword cut a niche for themselves among metal lifers and hipsters alike with Age of Winters, a dialed-up-to-11, unapologetically retro headbanger. The riffs were vintage Motörhead, and frontman J.D. Cronise's Ozzy imitation suited the (ahem) swords-'n-sorcery lyrics just fine. With that in mind, skeptics might think it easier to just listen to Paranoid — but you're far better off letting go of your authenticity hang-ups and getting swept up in the storm-bringing.
