Shonky's only been releasing records since 2005. But his sleeper hit, "Solar," has already won fans with its hypnotic waves of bleepy electronics, which modulate like a synthesizer underwater. As the "minimal" backlash continues to gain momentum, the Parisian (now based in Berlin, of course) holds his ground with productions formed from carefully curated loops and effects, released on labels like Freak 'n Chic and Mobilee.
