Hailed and denounced alike by critics as a sort of Gen-Y Revenge of the Nerds, Superbad is the brainchild of writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who began working on the script when they were just 13 years old. Produced by Judd Apatow (director of the hilarious Seth Rogen vehicle Knocked Up), the film stars the befuddled Michael Cera (Arrested Development) as Evan and Jonah Hill as Seth, in a smutty last-days-of-high-school plot that revolves chiefly around dick jokes, the procurement of alcohol, and cringe-worthy, John Hughes-esque attempts at hooking up.
