The entertainment industry has its time-honored rites of passage. In Los Angeles, aspiring moguls set their egos aside and toil in the William Morris Agency mail room. In New York City, young college grads serve irascible masters like Scott Rudin, hoping to become movie producers. Chicago's closest equivalent is probably working for Second City's Touring Company. Spend a few tours of duty living in a van and honing your skills, the thinking goes, and who knows where it could lead. Heck, it worked for Steve Carell, Chris Farley, Brian Stack, Stephen Colbert, and Tina Fey. The Touring Company performs sketches from Second City's long history, including some penned by the above comedians.
