Chicago's finest indie mag, THE2NDHAND, celebrates its eighth birthday tonight with the release of its first all-visual art issue, "The People." Currently available online, the issue features comics and illustrations by THE2NDHAND's resident artist Rob Funderburk, woodblock prints from Charles Buchanan, a comic panel by Antipurpose Driven Life genius Andrew Davis, and even a creepy backside maze for more hands-on readers. Tonight's event includes readings by Songs of Insurgency author Spencer Dew, playwright Lauren Pretnar, poet Kate Duva, THE2NDHAND editor Todd Dills, and a new radio play by C.T. Ballentine. For the grand finale, the organizers mysteriously promise a "Stupidist Manifesto."
