Even if they haven't inspired the same fervent devotion as John Haggerty's previous band, Naked Raygun, Pegboy still occupy a big place in Chicago's heart. Pegboy no longer record, but their '90s albums (and a particularly solid first EP) are some of the era's best meat-and-potatoes post-hardcore. At Touch and Go's 25th-anniversary celebration last year, they razed through their mid-afternoon set like they were closing the festival. Tonight, Pegboy really are headlining, and it's New Year's Eve. You can count on old pros to deliver.
