Though their name suggests a kinship with the iron curtain, Cold War Kids actually hail from behind Cali's Orange curtain. Complicating things further, the Fullerton four-piece play gutsy, blues-driven rock 'n roll that's less indebted to West Coast tropes than it is to Oxfordshire (the band lists Radiohead's OK Computer as its single greatest influence). After a succession of plum opening-act gigs (including a recently nixed spot with the stage-frightened White Stripes), the rockers headline the Metro tonight. We Barbarians and AA Bondy open.
