Celebrating five years of sporadic collaboration, the dancers of Hubbard Street and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra share the Symphony Center stage for one night. New to both companies is The Constant Shift of Pulse, a piece choreographed by New Yorker Doug Varone to the driving minimalism of John Adams. It's exemplary of Varone's pared-down aesthetic and should merge well with the dancers' natural simplicity. Showcasing the company's versatility, Jim Vincent's counter/part and Palladio are by contrast almost ridiculously complex, and Daniel Ezralow's SF/LB offers a restless and intermittently charming piece that wanders through postmodernism's hall of mirrors.
