Although Juan Atkins and Derrick May are rightfully celebrated for their electro classics, no one shaped the sound of Detroit techno more than Kevin Saunderson. Producing countless club anthems as one half of Inner City and pioneering the art of the mix with his own DJ sets, Saunderson helped create a brand new style. By surpassing his Detroit counterparts in popularizing his music, he also helped shape modern dance music. But let's not confuse Godfather with dinosaur. Last year's forward-looking Ekspozicija 07: The Detroit Connection saw Saunderson refining his first-rate DJ talent, not resting on it.
