Deranged imagery, disjointed aesthetics, disruption of visual order: if any of these sound appealing, you might like artist Aaron Van Dyke. His appropriation of text, costumes, and Photoshop techniques makes for an extremely interesting viewing experience or possibly a copious jumble of meaning — whichever way you care to picture the situation, Van Dyke's sculptures and works on paper are truly unique. Extricating himself from his earlier, more colorful work, Van Dyke employs the power of the monochromatic landscape in his new large-scale pieces, evoking a sense of loss and trepidation.
